About Bittu George
The son of immigrant parents from India, Bittu was born and raised in Kingston. He lived most of that time in the Bayridge area. Bittu attended several local schools: Polson Park Public School, Truedell Public School, Bayridge Public School, and Bayridge Secondary School. He also attended Queen’s University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Studies and his Bachelor of Laws degree.

After articling with a Kingston lawyer, Bittu was called to the Bar in 2002. He started his own practice in 2003, until joining the law firm of Cunningham, Swan, Carty, Little & Bonham in 2005. During this time, he was also serving as the City Councillor for Collins-Bayridge from 2003 to 2006. In 2005, Bittu was elected by City Council to the post of Deputy Mayor.
In 2007, Bittu was appointed as a Member (adjudicator) of the Landlord and Tenant Board by an Order-in-Council of the provincial government. He was re-appointed to this position in 2009.
Bittu is the recipient of several awards, such as the City of Kingston Certificate of Appreciation in 1999, the 1998 Kingston Township Community Policing Association Volunteer Award, Canada Post Corporation Scholarship Award (1990-93), and the Canada Youth Award in 1989.
